Fundación LAB Mediterráneo joins the CEEI to talk about trends in technology
Valencia, 21 November 2023. Fundación LAB Mediterráneo, a project promoted by the Employers’ Association of Valencia (AVE), took part in SOMMOS connecta 2023, an initiative from CEEI Valencia. iniciativa del CEEI Valencia.
Under its strategy plan, together with communication, dissemination and knowledge generation, Fundación LAB Mediterráneo provides support for existing leading initiatives in matters relating to entrepreneurship, innovation, technology and research in order to fulfil its mission to turn the Region of Valencia into a national and European benchmark in these four areas.
At a table moderated by Enrique Soto, director of Fundación LAB Mediterráneo, Héctor Dominguis, CEO of GDES and president of the foundation, and Rafael Rosell, commercial director of the S2 group, discussed the new directions in the companies, focusing on how the connection between projects, entities and institutions helps shape a sounder and more sustainable economy.
In his intervention, Dominguis stated that “as a family-owned business, sustainability fits very well with our strategy. Aware of the need to generate a positive impact on the decarbonisation and sustainability of the planet, we decided to create an open innovation portal called Blue Ventures six months ago, to attract ideas that are in line with our goals and our four blue oceans, and in which, in a very short time, people have been participating actively”.
For his part, Rafael Rosell, underlined the fact that “cybersecurity and technology have been in vogue for a relatively short time, but the breakthroughs are happening faster and faster. This has required us to have a strong culture of innovation from our origins because it is linked to our fundamental purpose. We set up S2X to promote intrapreneurship and allocate resources to implement colleagues’ ideas, on the one hand, and, on the other, to avail of the talent of the rest of the world, by launching open innovation challenges arising from our needs or those of our clients”.
