Fundación LAB Mediterráneo joins CTO SUMMIT to promote technological talent in the Region of Valencia

Valencia, may 26th of 2023. Fundación LAB Mediterráneo, a project promoted by the Valencian Business Association (AVE), has participated for the second consecutive year in the CTO Summit. This event aims to position the Region of Valencia as a point of reference and cradle of technological talent in the IT sector in Spain.

As part of its strategic plan, along with communication, dissemination, and knowledge generation, Fundación LAB Mediterráneo supports existing leading initiatives in entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, and research to fulfill its mission of making the Region of Valencia a national and European benchmark in these four areas.

At a table moderated by Chaume Sánchez, CEO at GeeksHubs, Arturo Escartí, CDO & CIO at Baleària, Víctor García, Data & AI Innovation Director at Verne Tech, and Raquel Gil, CIO at Euroval, discussed the challenges of technological innovation in large companies.

In his speech, Chaume Sánchez remarked that “in large organizations the positive trend of profitability or market positioning often makes them limit innovation, knowing how to manage this culture in the so-called “change management” will avoid many brakes and achieve a competitive leadership based on technology”.

Arturo Escartí, for his part, stressed that “Baleària, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary, is a company that is growing very fast and, now that it is consolidated in turnover and profitability, the challenge is to transform the systems to make them scalable and attract more talent, with projects that motivate and training in leadership, communication and business”.

In his speech, Víctor García pointed out that “one of the greatest challenges we can face in times when the growth and development of technology are advancing at a frenetic pace is to identify the options that best meet the needs of customers, to anticipate and offer solutions that provide advantages or improvements”.

Raquel Gil, argued that “technological innovation is a constant challenge for companies, both large and small”. She added that “the great challenge is to find a balance between profitability, functionality, and talent retention”.
