Fundación LAB Mediterráneo fosters the connection between entrepreneurs and researchers in collaboration with AccenT, Aeroport de Castelló, AVE, CEV Castellón, Council of Chambers of the Region of Valencia and the UJI
Castellón, 21 March 2024.- Fundación LAB Mediterráneo, a project promoted by the Employers’ Association of Valencia (AVE), will organize next Tuesday, March 26, in Castellón the third edition of the Encounter to Connect entrepreneurs and researchers, in collaboration with L’Associació de Científiques i Científics d’Excel·lència del Pla GenT (AccenT), Castellón Airport, the Valencian Employers’ Association of Valencia (AVE), CEV Castellón, the Council of Chambers of the Region of Valencia and the Universitat Jaume I (UJI), following those held in Valencia and Alicante in previous years, with the aim of promoting synergies between entrepreneurs and researchers.
The event will start at 11:30 a.m. at the Hotel Intelier Rosa (Calle Herrero, 20. Castellón). This event is part of the objective of promoting research, one of five set to help fulfil the foundation’s mission.
After the welcoming speech by Myriam Gimeno, CEO of the Gimeno Group and Gonzalo Abellán, president of AccenT, a dialogue will be held around the connection between research and business in which Gonzalo Abellán, CTO/founder of Matteco, and Manuel Quesada, IP&Innovation Manager of Matteco will participate, and which Enrique Soto, director of LAB Mediterráneo Foundation will moderate.
Five distinguished researchers will then go on to present their respective areas of work and the practical applications for the business world: Luis Cabedo (UJI), Josep Canet (UV), Juana María Delgado (UJI), Belén Franch (UV) and Víctor Sans (UJI).
The day will end with a round table moderated by David Cabedo, Vice-Rector for Innovation, Transfer and Scientific Dissemination of the UJI in which Adoración Arnaldos, Director of Innovation and Technology at GDES, Guillermo Berlanga, Director of R+D+i and Continuous Improvement of the Gimeno Group, and José Vicente Castell, Director of CSR and External Relations at Vicky Foods who will discuss what companies need from researchers. At the end of this session, there will be a closing ceremony and a subsequent cocktail-networking event to promote connections between the attendees.
In addition, the researchers will have the opportunity to take a business management course at EDEM School of Entrepreneurs, with the scientists participating in the two meetings organized by the foundation to help connect entrepreneurs and researchers.
The course’s main goal is to train the participating researchers in the tools and concepts related to entrepreneurship and to business strategy, which will help them successfully launch their own project on the market.
